Myrtle Crenshaw, daughter of the late Maud Maxwell Crenshaw and John Crenshaw was born December 28, 1921 in Taylor, Texas. She grew up in Williamson County, Texas and was educated in the Taylor Independent School District.

She was united in holy matrimony to McKinley Patterson in 1943 their union was blessed with eleven children. McKinley preceded her in death on February 25, 1992.

Myrtle, a longtime resident of Junction City, Kansas, was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She enjoyed the holidays and ceremoniously decorated her house for each season and holiday. She was a lover of sports but particularly a football fan. She loved the Kansas City Chiefs and Sundays you would find her dressed in fan gear ready to cheer them on. Spending time with her meant watching endless marathons of old western series such as Gunsmoke or Bonanza. Myrtle also loved detective shows and probably watched every episode of Murder She Wrote and Matlock.

Myrtle was a sweet, kind, compassionate woman. Her spirit will continue to live on in her children, her beauty will transcend time and her love will leave as a legacy for the generations to come. As the matriarch she was the rock, heart and soul of her family, she will be missed.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her devoted son, Raymond Patterson (2014); her parents John Crenshaw (1932) and Maud Hughes; siblings, Carrie Black, Berline Harrison and Eric Crenshaw.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving children, Arlene Courtney, San Antonio, Texas; McKinley Patterson, Jr., Denver, Colorado; Virgie Lee Baldwin, Junction City, Kansas; Annette (Chuck) Lewis, Daly City, California; Marion Smith, Aurora, Colorado; Betty (Brian) Coleman Junction City, Kansas; Yvonne Warren, Junction City, Kansas; Babbette (Walter) Carr, Junction City, Kansas; Tracy Smith, Aurora, Colorado; and Valerie Guy, Junction City, Kansas. She is also survived by twenty five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
