Muriele J. Johnson, 84, of Junction City, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2015 at Brookdale of Junction City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Gale Hammerschmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the St. Xavier Catholic Church, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441 or to the Open Door, 136 W. 3rd Street, Junction City, KS 66441.
She was born on February 17, 1931, Minneapolis, MN to Walter C. and Alma (Kirchmeier) McLaughlin.
On September 18, 1954, Minneapolis, MN she married Harold K. Johnson he preceded her in death May 2, 2007.
Muriele was a member of the Church Circle III, St. Xavier, Gamma Phi Chapter of ESA, the Geary Community Hospital Auxiliary, and volunteered for many years at the Open Door Community House. She was a homemaker and took pride in raising her three sons and worked with her husband Harold in the family businesses.
Muriele is survived by her three Sons, Scott Johnson (Candice), Bruce Johnson and Todd Johnson (Nancy) all of Junction City, KS; her grandchildren, Josh (Deidra) Johnson, Sarah (Brian) Prunty; Brian (Mandy) Johnson, Stacey Johnson, Erin Johnson; Annie Johnson, Nick Musto and Matthew Musto; her great-grandchildren, Luke Prunty, Levi Prunty, Liam Johnson; Ayden Johnson, Logan Johnson, Aliah Martin and Faith Martin. She is also survived by her brother, Walter (Marge) McLaughlin of MI, her nieces Susan and Sarah, her nephew, Tom and her brother-in-law, Bob Finnegan, of WA, her niece, Jane (Dennis) Wolff of WA and her great-niece Frances Wolff and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Russell J. McLaughlin and her sister, Frances Finnegan.
