Mingo Duffin

Funeral Services for Sgt. Mingo Duffin (Ret) 86. Junction City, will be 1;00pm Monday, April 10, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel with Pastor Leonard Gray officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Fort Riley Cemetery. Mr. Duffin passed away April 4, 2006 at Topeka VA Hospital. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm Sunday April 9, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington.

Mr. Duffin was born December 20, 1919 in Nesmith, SC the son of Joe and Mary (Nesmith) Duffin. He entered the US Army August 8, 1941 serving in France,Germany and the Phillipines during World War II . He also served in the Korean Conflict, retiring March 31, 1962 . He worked at the foundry in Enterprise, Ks from 1968, retiring in 1982.

He was married to Jamie Alice Maxwell May 15, 1922, in Junction City, KS , she survives at the home. Survivors include his daughters Margeret Dominque, CA, Ruby Kindell, New Orleans, LA and Cassie Jones, New York.; a sister Francis Henderson, Washington, D.C.

Preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Fort Riley Honor Guard will serve as Pallbearers.
