Milton J. Holman

Milton J. (Mick) Holman, 77, a longtime resident of Junction City, KS passed away December 29, 2008 at Geary Community Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City, KS. Visitation will be Thursday, January 1, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the chapel. Cremation will follow the services.

Mick was born May 27,1931 in St. Louis, MO to John and Goldie Holman. He met and married Betty Raleigh in Burkburnett, TX, in 1955, while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by their three children, Kim Coleman and husband Ed, David and Kevin Holman, Shirley Kies, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Wanda of Fredericktown, MO, many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed wonderful relationships with his brothers and sister-in laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Betty, and his brother Dennis.

After getting out of the Air Force he and his family moved to Junction City in 1961. He was a long time local business owner. Mick was a member and past president of the local Kiwanis club. He and his family enjoyed camping and fishing. He especially enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for his home. Mick was a unique man and will be greatly missed.
