Michelle Lee McLean, 46, of Junction City KS passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2020, at the Milford Cemetery with Pastor Brian Mills officiating. Following the graveside service, the family will receive friends from 12 - 2 at the Elks Lodge in Junction City. Michelle will lie in state 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the Johnson Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington Street in Junction City. The family will not be present at the funeral home to receive friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Allie McLean Education Fund c/o Intrust Bank 121 N. Washington Street Junction City, KS 66441 or to the Geary County Animal Shelter 2424 N. Jackson Street, Junction City, KS 66441.
Michelle was born February 15, 1974, in Hutchinson, KS, the eldest daughter of Byron Lee and Anita (Novotny) McLean.
Michelle graduated from Junction City Senior High with the class of 1992. She attended Fort Hays State and later Kansas State University.
Michelle most recently worked for Corvias on Ft Riley, KS for 13 years before joining Walters Morgan Construction Inc in October of 2019 where she worked until her passing.
Michelle was a member of the Elks Lodge #1037 in Junction City and Sawyer United Methodist Church in Sawyer, KS.
Michelle was an avid gardener, cook, quilter and all manner of crafting hobbies. She enjoyed computer games, Final Fantasy, Star Wars and Mulan. She loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and the Kansas State Wildcats.
On March 17, 2014, Michelle was blessed with the greatest gift, Allie Marie, 6, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include her mother, Anita McLean and her sister Mica Soames and brother-in-law, Daniel Soames
She was preceded in death by her father, Byron McLean.
Michelle was known to volunteer her time and skills to help numerous different causes. She was blessed with a giving heart and compassion for all manner of people and animals. She surrounded herself with amazing friends, who she often referred to as family and is fondly remembered by all the lives that she touched.
