Michael Wayne Martino, 51, of Junction City, KS passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 from Melanoma Brain Cancer that he battled for 10 months. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the George Smith Reception Hall, 103 W. 7th Street, Junction City, KS. A luncheon will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be given to Hospice at Geary Community Hospital, in care of the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441.
Michael was born January 25, 1962 to Frank and Eileen (Heldstab) Martino. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1980. He married Robin Smith in 1985, they later divorced and he relocated to Joplin, MO in 2005, until he moved back home when becoming ill.
Michael was a carpenter at Horizons RV for several years, the successor of Martino's Carpet Cleaning and Janitorial in Junction City. While in Joplin, he worked at Mid America RV Sales and was active with the AA and NA groups in Joplin and Junction City.
Michael is survived by his son, Brandon Martino, his parents, Frank and Eileen, Martino all of Junction City, KS, his sister, Brenda Hall of Excelsior Springs, MO and his brother, Doug Martino of Kansas City, MO.
