Michael Redding, Jr.

August 21, 1976 — June 20, 2016

Michael "Miguel" Redding Jr. departed June 20, 2016 at Geary Community Hospital. A proud Leo/Virgo cusp, born in 1976 Miguel would have celebrated his 40th birthday on August 21st. Born in Newark, NJ to Michael Sr. and Janice (Glenn) Redding.

Miguel was direct and preferred economy in words; he was a private person. If Miguel could be distilled into sentences: he worked hard -- for himself and those he cared for. Miguel was focused -- he had a clear vision of what he wanted and how to achieve it. He never asked of others what he would not expect of himself.

Those of us fortunate to call Miguel family or friend were often gifted his limitless quick-wit and humor; his equally thorough chastising (when necessary); his natural inclination to care for others; and his superhuman ability to swoop in and save the day. Miguel was short for foolishness but long on love.

Miguel's memory is cherished in the hearts of his parents, Michael Sr. and Janice (Glenn) Redding; and his brother, Matthew Redding. His "bonus" brother, Phillip Davis and adopted son, Corey Nitkiewicz.

His "Aunt Cookie," Lydia Douglas and Uncle Peter Evans. Cousins: ShaMecha, Camillion, and Kathryn-Amelia Simms; Petra Wolf and Elijah Evans.

And his dearest friend, Jeanette Hammond.

Miguel loved his nieces and nephews famously. They are: Miguel Redding, Alaya Rarrick, Giana Redding, Alexis Gill, Mariah Redding, Marek Redding, and Tarrin Redding; Joshua Newsome, Johnathan Simms, and Sy'Ria-Dream Little; as well as Tatum Greule.

Miguel leaves behind a host of extended family on the East Coast and friends all over.

Thank you, Michael...Miguel for sharing your presence with us. We love you, immeasurably.
