Michael Amidon, 78, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Geary Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2021, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with military honors.
He was born on January 23, 1943, in Loughborough, England the son of Donald and Ivy (Moss) Amidon. Michael and his mother came to the United States on the War Bride Ship to join Donald in 1946. They resided in Denver, CO. They later moved to Westminster where he attended school.
Michael joined the United States Army in 1960. He served in Korea and Okinawa.
On December 7, 1963, he married Frances Meis at Westminster, CO. They traveled to various locations in Germany and the United States of America. In the twenty three years of serving, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired in 1985.
Michael is survived by his loving Wife, Frances of the home in Junction City, KS; three Sons, Daniel Amidon, Darren (Tina) Amidon of Junction City, KS, David (Nur) Amidon of WA State; Sister, Ann (Jack) Day of Truth or Consequences, NM; Two Brothers, Donald Amidon of Brookfield, CO, Robert (Michelle) Amidon of Westminster, CO; fourteen grandchilddren; one great-grandchild and five step-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Shirley Amidon,
