Merton F. Dios, 80, of Junction City, passed away April 26, 2004 at Geary Community Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, 2004, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Graveside service will be Friday, April 30, 2004, 10 a.m. at Fort Riley Cemetery with military honors. Pastor Bryan Jones will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to the Junction City Senior Citizen's Center, 1107 S. Spring Valley Rd., Junction City, KS, 66441, and/or the First Southern Baptist Church, 1220 W. 8th St., Junction City, KS 66441.
Mr. Dios was born January 23, 1924, in Boston, MA, son of Frank J. and Alma (Thacker) Dios. He was in the special services division in the army and served in WWII, Germany and England. Mr. Dios retired in 1964 with 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion.
He married Margaret Marshall October 26, 1946 in Kansas City, KS; she survives of the home.
Survivors include his son, Michael Dios of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, DeLane M. Wolf of Junction City, and Frances Schroeder of Sacramento, CA; ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Mark Dios.
