A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at the Fort Riley Cemetery for McKinley J. "Skeet" Miller, Jr. with Chaplain Craig Ludwig officiating. A visitation for Mr. Miller will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel 203 N. Washington Street in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be given to the Friends of Animals P.O. Box 580 Junction City, Kansas 66441 or to the American Cancer Society 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. Kansas City, Missouri 64105.
Mr. Miller was born April 11, 1928, in Eunice, Louisiana the son of McKinley and Mary Marie (Roy) Miller, Sr. Mr. Miller has lived in the area since 1962.
Mr. Miller was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Army in 1967. In the Army he received the Army Commendation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He later worked for Bitterman and Button as a warehouseman. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He married Doris Lewis on August 23, 1953. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons David Miller of Junction City and Mark M. Miller of Hutchinson. He is also survived by two daughters Pamela J. Hardesty of Salina and Barbara Parker of Manhattan. He survived by three brothers Ray Miller and Jack Miller both of Eunice, La. and Bobby Miller of Opelusas, La. He is survived by one sister Diane Garnett of Clarks, La. He is survived by seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and one daughter - in - law.
The Fort Riley Honor Gaurd will serve as casket bearers.
