A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2007, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel for Maxine Joyce Keller, 85, Junction City, Kansas. Reverend Dale Plummer will officiate. Mrs. Keller passed away Thursday, March 22, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Wakefield, Kansas. A visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery
Maxine was born April 14, 1921, in Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of August Henry and Ethelyn (Nider) Keller. She has lived in Junction City since 1932 having moved from Marysville.
Maxine was the head cashier for 29 years at the Ft. Riley Post Exchange having retired December 31, 1980. She previously worked as the receptionist and cashier for the Ft. Riley Officer's Club. She graduated from Junction City High School in 1939 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Junction City.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Rexine J. Brown and a brother J.R. Keller.
She is survived by her nephew Scott K. Brown of Junction City, Kansas and her niece Pamela S. Fair of Topeka, Kansas.
