Maxine L. Dreher, 88, of Louisville, CO, formerly of Junction City, KS, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Avista Adventist Hospital. A graveside service will be held 1 pm Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6-8 pm Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Johnson Funeral Home 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City. Memorial contributions may be given to the Disabled American Veterans VA Hospital-Bldg #24 RM106G 2200 SW Gage Blvd. Topeka, KS 66622 or to an organization of the donor's choice.
Maxine was born May 3, 1931, in Grant City, MO, the daughter of Daniel M. and Kathleen (Lane) Snow. On February 13, 1950, she married Earl W. Dreher, in Maryville, MO.
Maxine worked in the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) for twenty-five years in various positions in Missouri, Georgia, Colorado, Germany, and Kansas. Before and during retirement, she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, working on home projects, bowling, playing cards, and traveling. One of her many pleasures was making beautiful quilts for her family, which would not only keep them warm but always remind them of her love and hugs.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Phillips of Roanoke, VA, and one son, Anthony Dreher and his wife Linda Krauze of Louisville, CO. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Nicole Phillips of Santa Monica, CA, Paul Dreher of Rochester, MN, and Rachel Dreher of St. Louis, MO, two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dreher and Anne Snow, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl (Shorty), her parents, and three brothers.
