Maurice White, Jr., 84, Junction City, KS, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KS. A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd, Manhattan, KS. with full military honors. A visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline Ave. in Junction City. Memorial contributions may be given to the Disabled American Veterans, 1505 N. Washington, Junction City, KS 66441.
Maurice was born October 4, 1927, in Richmond, Virginia the son of Maurice and Clara (Randall) White, Sr.
Mr. White served in the United States Army. He later worked as a Pathology Assistant for the Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York for thirty five years having retired in 1993. He was a member of the American Legion Post #45 in Junction City, KS.
He is survived by three sons, Maurice White, III and his wife Mary of NY, New York; Darryl White and his wife Marsha of Junction City, KS. and Mark Brown of Brooklyn, NY. He is also survived by one brother, Wayne White and wife Ola of New York, New York, and one sister, Deloris Slater of Brooklyn, New York, He is survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Pricilla James.
