Matthew Scott Righter, 26, of Junction City, died Feb. 5, 2018 at his home. Matthew was born July 11, 1991 in Kalispell, Montana, the son of Rodney S. and Joanne (Christiansen) Righter.

Matthew was a 2010 graduate of Junction City High School, and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Matthew most recently worked at Parker-Hannifin Manufacturing in Manhattan.

He is survived by his parents, Rodney and Joanne Righter, Milford; 2 brothers, Joseph and Samuel Righter, both of Milford; his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Righter, Troy, Montana; and his maternal grandmother, Hermelinda Phillippe, and her husband Larry, Kalispell, Montana. Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Albert Christiansen, and maternal grandmother, Patricia Righter.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Riley, Manhattan. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard from McConnell Air Force Base.
