Mary R. Hughes

No Services are planned for Mary R. Hughes, 75, of Junction City, formerly of Chesapeake, VA, who died March 1, 2005 at Geary Community Hospital. She was a former resident at Valley View Professional Care Center. Interment will be in Odgen City Cemetery.

Mary was born July 28, 1929 in Roanoke, VA, the daughter of Monroe Phillip and Clara (Stanley) Rock. She married James Samuel Hughes on March 17, 1956 in Norfolk, VA, he preceded her in death October 20, 1995.

Mary was a member of the Missionary Holiness Pentecostal Church, Great Bridge, VA.

Survivors include a son and his wife: Reverend Dr. Howard D. Hughes and Debra S. Hughes, her caregiver for many years, of Junction City, KS; a brother David Firebaugh, Chesapeake, VA: Two grandchildren, Three great-grandchildren and a nephew Leonard Firebaugh of the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two step-fathers and a stillborn child.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Hughes family, 1320 Pearl Dr. Junction City, KS 66441.
