Mary Letha Davis

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008, at St. Xavier's Catholic Church for Mary Leatha Davis, 85, Junction City, Kansas. Father Al Brungardt will officiate. Burial will follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2008, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline Avenue, Junction City, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Xavier's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 399 or to the Geary Community Hospital c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 3015 both in Junction City, Kansas 66441.

Mary was born July 27, 1923, in Natchez, Mississippi the daughter of Charlie and Julia (Hall) Miller. She has lived in Junction City since January of 1956.

Mary graduated from the St. Francis High School in 1941 in Natchez, Mississippi.

She married Morris Davis December 23, 1941. He survives of the home in Junction City.

Mary worked as a nurse assistant for Geary Community Hospital for fifteen years. She was a member of the St. Xavier's Catholic Church in Junction City and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son; LeMoine Davis of Junction City, KS, three daughters; Dorothy Murrell and Brenda Davis both of Denver, Colorado and Norma Jean Mohammed of Junction City, KS. She is also survived by two sisters, Florell Patterson and Carine Ross both of Natchez, MS, ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
