Mary A. Hartung, 98, of Junction City, passed away Apr. 16, 2004 at Geary Community Hospital. A graveside inurnment will take place Thursday, Apr. 22, 2004, 3 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Junction City. Reverend Paul Wolf will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church, 804 N. Jefferson, Junction City, KS 66441 and or Geary Community Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441. Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, Junction City is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hartung was born May 6, 1905, Sheridan County, KS to Robert and Lena (Amthauer) Reid. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She married Charles (Chick) Hartung, May 28, 1925, he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1950.
She is survived by two daughters; Iris Boyer of Junction City and Beverly McWhorter of Indio, CA, one son; Levoy D. Hartung of Texas, two sisters; Elizabeth of Arvada, CO and Pearl of Shreveport, LA, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Rodney L. Hartung.
