Mary Catherine Witt

A Memorial Mass for Mary Catherine "Cathy" Witt, 60 of Junction City will be Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Xavier's Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2011 from 6-8 pm with a rosary at 7:30 pm at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St. Mrs. Witt passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. Memorial contributions may be made to Geary Community Healthcare Foundation. P.O. Cathy was born June 23, 1950 in Junction City, Kansas to Thomas "Tom" and Olive Ruth "Ruthie" Owens. She later married Kenneth Witt on October 18, 1969 at Saint Xavier's Catholic Church.

Cathy worked at Geary Community Hospital from December 1974 until her retirement in 2007. She was a member of Saint Xavier's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth "Ken" Witt of the home. Two daughters; Sara Klamert, Kari Barnes and her husband Matt both of Junction City. A brother Tom and his wife Dawn Owens of Richmond, VA. Three grandchildren; Connor Klamert and her father Jim, Emily and Colin Barnes and her mother Olive Ruth Owens-Pancake and step-father Dale Pankcake all of Junction City. One step-brother; Dale Pancake and his wife Helen of Andalusia, AL. One step-sister; Sue Jacobson and husband Kent of Mechanicville, VA. Many nieces, nephews and friends.

Cathy is preceded in death by her father Thomas B. Owens.
