Mary K. Brown, 74, of Junction City, KS died at Geary Community Hospital on January 12, 2017. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Xavier Catholic Church on January 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Gale Hammerschmidt officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fort Riley Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, from 6p.m. to 8p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions have been designated to St. Xavier Catholic Church and to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Mary was born May 20, 1942, Yankton, SD to Clement and Mamie (Foley) Gill. Mary worked many years in the Finance Industry, Fort Riley National Bank, General Finance Company and as a Loan Officer for many years with Mercury Finance. She enjoyed Kansas City Chiefs Football, reading, she loved to travel, play Pinochle and Pitch and enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them and she adored her grandsons and her great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church and NARF.
She married Charles J. "Charlie" Brown September 4, 1961, and his service to our country brought them to Fort Riley, Kansas, following his retirement they remained in Junction City, KS. He preceded her in death November 22, 2003.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Tom) Wesoloski and Lori (Chuck) Leithoff all of Junction City, KS; her son, Mike (Kathy) Brown of Wellington, CO; her five grandsons, Jason (Tyffani) Wesoloski, Justin (Aubrey) Wesoloski, Jeremy (Randi) Leithoff, Evan Brown and Brady Brown; her four great-grandchildren, Braedon Wesoloski, Jaxson Wesoloski, Emma Leithoff, Lilyann Leithoff and her future great-grandchild to arrive in March.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Billy Gill.
