Marvin L. Whorton

November 17, 1950 — June 14, 2016

Marvin L. Whorton, 65, of Junction City, KS, returned to his heavenly Father on June 14, 2016. Dove Cremation & Funeral Service in Junction City, KS, is assisting with private family arrangements.

Marvin was born on November 17, 1950, in Junction City, KS, son to Willard and Dorothia Whorton.

He grew up in Junction City and graduated high school at the Junction City High School.

Marvin worked in the family business from a young age and had a strong work ethic. This was a key component when he went to work for Dillon's floral department.

He loved the "Beach Boys", collecting watch fobs, antique signs, and making friends wherever he went. Marvin enjoyed browsing the farmers markets for fresh produce. He honored his parents in the kitchen by preparing meals he learned from them to feed his friends and family. He also loved to teach his granddaughter how to cook, and the other grandchildren enjoyed being taste testers. He knew everybody's favorites. Everyday at 4:30 p.m. he would visit his friends at Interstate Glass.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Junction City.

Marvin was known by many people and will be dearly missed.

Marvin is survived by his loving family; wife Diane Whorton of Junction City, KS; his two daughters Katina M. and husband David Brenn of Junction City, KS, Donna and husband Ed Fazekas of Somerset, NJ; son, Charly Beagen of Skiddy, KS; four granddaughters Renee Fazekas of Los Angeles, CA, Samantha Fazekas of Somerset, NJ, Jessica and husband Heath McKay of Ft. Riley, KS, Bailey Diane Brenn of Junction City, KS; two grandsons Mitchell Brenn of Manhattan, KS, and Danny Denio of Junction City, KS.
