Martha Ruth Oppenlander, 62, Junction City, died Friday, February 27, 2009, at her home. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2009, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel 805 Caroline Ave. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Martha Ruth Oppenlander was born February 7, 1947, in Junction City the daughter of Charles and Etta Kathirne (Cummins) Schiller. She has been a life time resident of Junction City.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge #830 Auxilliary.
She married Gary Oppenlander April 30, 1967, in Junction City. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Christy Oppenlander of Milford, KS., one brother, Marshall Schiller of Navarre, KS. and one sister Linda Senters of Junction City, KS. She is also survived by two grandsons, Bruce Shannon Broome, Jr. and girlfriend Sara Kirkoff, and Shannon Michael Smelley, Jr. and two great-granddaughters, Brianna and Madison Broome.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eleven siblings and one grandson Bradley Steven Broome.
