Martha Bass

Martha Bass, 78, of Junction City, passed away on February 28, 2015 at her home. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Father Peter O'Donnell will officiate.Martha's family will visit with friends at the chapel from 3:00 pm. until time of service. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Martha was born on March 23, 1936, Augsburg, Germany, to George and Josefa (Edinger) Scherbl.

Martha owned and operated her own Janitorial service for many years, she loved gardening, dancing, baking and knitting and she loved the season of summer.

She married Robert G. Bass August 19, 1966 in Germany he preceded her in death February 4, 1990.

Martha is survived by her children, William Christman of Junction City, KS, Thomas (Stephanie) Christman of Sneedville, TN; Patty (David) Myers, Sandy (Kevin) Reynolds both of Junction City, KS, her siblings, Josefine Springer, Lothar (Adi) Scherbl, Donnis Scherbl all of Augsburg, Germany and Helga Atkinson of Angola, IN, five grandchildren, Emily, Shane, Sean, Michelle and Mellissa and nine great-grandchildren, Sean, Megan, Paige, Drew, Bryce, Braden, Jadyn, Gavin and Ashton.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Vernor and Irvin Scherbl
