Martha Ballard

Martha "Pat" Elizabeth Ballard, 72, of Junction City, KS died March 11, 2011 at Geary Community Hospital. Mrs. Ballard was born to George and Lucille Thielbar on March 29, 1938. She was married to Eugene R. Ballard on September 26, 1959 and he survives of the home in Junction City, KS. Martha retired from Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services after 25 years of service.

Martha was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Dawn, one grandson, Steven Michael Herald and one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Lynn Herald.

She is survived by two daughters, Lora Herald of Hutchinson, and Valerie and Tony Coltharp of Manhattan; two sons, Don and Tammy Ballard of Junction City, and Tony and Kelly Ballard of Shawnee, one brother, Ed Thielbar of Portage, IN, twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington Street in Junction City. Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Junction City Church of the Nazarene, 1025 S. Washington, Junction City, KS with Reverend James Bond officiating. Graveside service will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Manhattan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Junction City Church of the Nazarene, The American Heart Association or the St. Francis House in Topeka, c/o Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City, KS 66441.

Pallbearers will be John Thielbar, Derick Thielbar, Matt Coltharp, BJ Herald, Brett Herald, Bob Strong, Tony Ballard and Don Ballard.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tony Coltharp, Pete Sowder and Ed Thielbar
