Memorial services for Marshall D. "Marty" Karmann, 63, of Junction City will be 5 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the Elk's Lodge, 723 S. Washington with Rev. Dr. Joe Belardo officiating. Mr. Karmann passed away on March 6, 2006 at Geary Community Hospital. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Geary County Fish & Game Association, P.O. Box 631, Junction City, KS 66441and/or American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64105.
Mr. Karmann was born February 28, 1943, Junction City, KS to Henry O. and Minnie M. (McDiffett) Karmann. Marty married Dorothy "Dee" Harold August 29, 1963, Junction City, KS, they later divorced.
He owned and operated a service station for many years before managing Doc's Standard Service for 23 years. He worked as a truck driver for Lee Champ Trucking from 1983 to 1985. He then went to work as a truck driver for Vanguard until January of 1994 and had also worked for Shop Quik, LLC Convenience Stores hauling fuel from December of 1993 until June of 2005.
He is survived by his former wife Dee of Junction CIty, three sons, Mark W. Karmann, Trent A. Karmann and Lance D. Karmann all of Junction City, two brothers, Jerry Karmann of Junction City, Terry Karmann of Dwight, KS, one sister, Marsha Florido of Platte City, MO, two granddaughters, Kalli Karmann and Hannah Karmann, two step-grandsons, Josh Lilly and Travis Lilly all of Junction City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Walter R. "Pete" Karmann, Darryl M. Karmann and Steven D. Karmann.
Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
