Marilyn Marie Shelton

Marilyn M. Shelton, 74, Junction City, died Dec. 17, 2018 at Geary Community Hospital. Marilyn was born June 24, 1944 in Junction City, the daughter of Walter and Bertha "Irene" (Berggren) Shane. Marilyn attended Junction City schools.

Marilyn was the Manager of Earl C. Gormley, American Legion Post #45 for many years.

Marilyn married Donald E. Shelton on Dec. 5, 2001 in Junction City. Donald died April 26, 2014.

Survivors include: a son, Joe Trimm and his wife Billie, Sallisaw, Oklahoma; 3 daughters, Teresa Trimm, Junction City, Dawna Reske and her husband Frank, Sagamore Beach, MA, and Cindy Perez and her husband Tony, Tucson, Arizona; 2 brothers, Warren Shane and his wife Jeane, and Russell Shane, all of Junction City; and a sister, Linda Cooksley and her husband Bill, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; a brother Larry Shane; and a grandson, Troy Stankey in 1996.

It was Marilyn's wish to be cremated.

The family will hold a visitation and memorial service 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Johnson Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington, Junction City, KS.

Inurnment service will be at 1:30 p.m., January 4, 2019 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Riley, Manhattan.
