A Celebration of Life for Marie Jane (Hardt) Weaver, 81, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Matt Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington on Sunday, November 11, 2007. Mrs. Weaver passed away at her residence on November 8, 2007. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 630 S. Eisenhower, Junction City, KS 66441 and/or Hospice at Geary Community Hospital, c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mrs. Weaver was born June 12, 1926 at Allegheny, PA to Walter David and Clara (Segelharst) Hardt. Marie married James Walter Weaver, December 6, 1947 in Mars, PA. Marie was a homemaker and later she worked in the dental offices of Dr. Larry Bunker. Later she and her husband purchased the Village Shop for Ladies which Marie managed for 23 years. She and her husband retired and later went to work for the Johnson Funeral Chapel for 10 years. Marie was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, a member of the Lutheran Women Missionary League, a member of the church choir and a member of the Mission Sewers. She was also a member of the Educational Extension Unit of Geary County.
She is survived by her husband James Walter Weaver of Junction City, their son Arden Walter Weaver and wife Carol Lynn of Duluth, MN and a brother, David Walter Hardt of Maryland, two grandchildren; James Edward Weaver and Megan Marie (Weaver) Agenter and four great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one younger brother, Wayne John Hardt.
