Maria Leone

Services for Maria Leone, 82, of Junction City will be Monday, March 15, 10:00 a.m. at the St. Xavier Catholic Church, Father Al Brungardt will officiate. Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 14, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with 2:30 p.m. vigil at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mrs. Leone passed away March 10, at the Good Samaritan Center. Memorial Contributions may be given to the St. Xavier Catholic Church or St. Xavier School, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441.

Maria was born April 21, 1921, at Serracapriola, Italy to Vincenzo and Josephine (Barrbatoe) Sicuranza. She was a homemaker and a seamstress and had been a resident of Junction City since 1947. Maria married Joseph Leone November 5, 1947 at Whiteplains, New York, he preceded her in death May 30, 2001. Maria was a member of St. Xavier Church and the Sacred Heart League.

She is survived by one son; James F. Leone of Olympia, WA, seven daughters; Rachel Charboneau of Phoenix, AZ, Josephine Smith of Manhattan, KS, Annie Eschke of Wamego, KS, Michelina Smith of Wamego, KS, Theresa Busch of Manhattan, KS, Linda Criss of Topeka, KS and Pauline Leone of Junction City, KS, Three sisters; Anita, Edda and Rita of Foggia, Italy, one nephew; Alberto Orlando, Thomas and Margie Leone of Spokane, WA, Ten Grandchildren and Five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Leigh Charboneau, Clyde Criss, James Eschke, Richard Martin, Michael Smith, Dan Chitwood.
