Maria died July 20, 2002 at Salina Regional Medical Center, visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Johnson Funeral Chapel.Burial will be at Fort Riley Cemetery, Fort Riley, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saline County Dialysis Junction City Unit, c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, Kansas 66441. Maria was born July 8, 1923, Wasserburg, Germany to Joseph and Veronika Oberauer Marriage Date & Place: Maria married William C. Carter, March 17, 1952 in Fulda, Germany, he survives of the home. Employment & Biography: Maria worked as a waitress in Germany before coming to Junction City, KS in 1970, she worked for Fort Riley Food Service and USD 475 Food Service. She was a member of the Catholic faith. Survivors: One Daughter; Marilyn Reynoldson of Junction City, KS, Two Sons; William B.Carter of Vassar, KS and James C. Carter of Wake Forest, NC, Five Grandchildren and Two Great-Grandchildren. Preceded In Death By: Parents, Two Sisters; Veronika Waskiewicz and Zazilia Goldbruner
and One Granddaughter. Casket bearers: Guy Reynoldson, David Reynoldson, Alan Bontrager, Steve Hoppas, James Carter and William Carter.
