Services for Margareta Bowdoin, 82, will be held Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at St. Xavier Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with 7:30 vigil service at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Father Al Brungardt will officiate. Burial will be at Fort Riley Cemetery. Margarata died August 25, 2003 in the emergency room at Geary Community Hospital. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Xavier Catholic School, P.O. She was born on July 22, 1921 at Deusdorf, Germany to Andreas and Theresia (Schnitzer) Schopplein. She came to Junction City in 1955, she was married to Bennie Bowdoin, he preceded her in death, April 46, 1979. She worked for Wal-Mart in the Fabric Department, she retired from there in 1991. She was a member of the St. Xavier Catholic Church, involved in numerous church activities and a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by one grand niece, Renate Simon, one great nephew, Otmar Rossmeier, two nieces; Hennriette Steinfelder, Erika Sperber, six nephews; Richard Suffa,Am, Richard Schopplein, Josef Schopplein, Heinz Schopplein, Michael Schopplein and Dieter Schopplein-Glorius. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Ken Mortensen, Kenny Dick, Gunter Simon, Dr. Richard Clarke, Peter Kohlrus and Dr. Pete Pellegrin. Organist will be Anita Hernandez.
