Margaret S. Sunstrom, daughter of Martin H. and Vendla R. Underdahl, was born Aug. 8, 1917 in Minneapolis, Minn. She entered into eternal rest July 3, 2016 in Washington, Mo. She formerly lived in Milford.
She attended schools in Minneapolis, Minn., where she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1935. In 1938, she married Harold R. Sunstrom, who preceded her in death in 1997.
While living in Iowa, Margaret was active in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
She was a Red Cross volunteer in Junction City for 30 years, 23 of those years at the Good Samaritan Center.
She was a former member of EHU, Milford Friendship Club and Milford Congregational Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Vivian Date; sister, Arlie Smith; and brother, De Forest Underdahl.
She is survived by daughter, Penelope Miquelon (Paul) of Wildwood, Mo.; son, Barry Sunstrom (Connie) of Madison, Ala.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was very proud of her family. She took pride in being a homemaker. She was a beautiful seamstress who enjoyed quilting, collecting dolls, and needlework of all kinds. Christmas meant sharing homemade cookies with friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at the Milford Congregational Church at 11 a.m. July 7. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. July 7.
