Funeral services for Margaret E. "Peggy" Dios, 85, of Junction City, will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Nate Butler officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Fort Riley Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 6-8pm at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St. Mrs. Dios passed away Thursday, June 24 at Geary Community Hospital.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Hope Stephenson Medical Fund, c/o Central National Bank, P.O. Box 700, Junction City, KS 66441. Hope is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Dios, she was born with Cerebral Palsy and this fund has been established for future medical needs.
Margaret was born October 29, 1924 in Warrensburg, MO to George & Maggie (Kelly) Marshall. She later married Merton F. Dios on October 26, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2004.
Margaret worked Civil Service at Fort Riley for 23 years. She was very active with the Senior Citizen's Center, Valley View Estate Family and the First Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret also enjoyed reading and crafts.
Survivors include her son, Michael Dios and wife Judy of Orange Beach, AL; two daughters, DeLane Wolf and husband Dana of Junction City, and Frances Schroeder of Sacramento, CA; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Mark Dios.
