Margaret E. Clennan Spittles
Margaret "Margie" E. Clennan Spittles, age 69, of Junction City, passed away December 19, 2003 at her residence. Visitation is set for Monday, December 22, 2003, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 23, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at St. Xavier's Catholic Church with Father Al Brungardt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Xavier Catholic Church, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441, and/or the American Cancer Society,
1315 SW Arrowhead Rd., Topeka, KS 66604.
Margie was born January 7, 1934, in Chapman, KS, daughter of Vincent and
Marie (Kelley) Clennan. She graduated from Chapman High School. Margie was an insurance agent for 35 years (30 years with Coryell and 5 years with American Family). Margie also was a dental assistant for 15 years. She married Paul F. Spittles February 9, 1963 in Junction City; he survives of the home.
She was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church, the Church Circle, Volunteered for hospice, was on the Parish Council and School Board at one time, and was also a St. Xavier renewal coordinator.
Survivors include her husband; two sons: Steven K. Stewart of Minneapolis,
MN, and Eric M. Spittles of Clay Center, KS; two daughters: Marina D. Maimer of Fort Collins, CO, and Robin J. Johns of Cedar Creek, TX; five brothers: Joe and John Clennan both of Topeka, KS, Jim Clennan of El Dorado, KS, Larry Clennan of Phoenix, AZ, and Leo Clennan of Richardson, TX; five sisters: Patricia Gonter of Dalton, OH, Mary Lee Hall-Clennan of Winter Park, FL, Kate Davidson of Garland, TX, Beth Schmidt-Talbott of Chapman, TX, and Joyce Snodgrass of
Callao, MO; and two granddaughters: Brandi and Brooke Johns of Cedar Creek,
TX.
Preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Mark and John Stewart; one
daughter: Paula Spittles; and one sister: Barbara McClatchey.
Pallbearers will be Steven Stewart, Leo Clennan, John Clennan, Joe Clennan, Larry Clennan, and Jim Clennan.
Music will be provided by Anita Hernandez
