Rev. Dr. Maliepule Tauala, 77 from Ta'u, Manu'a of American Samoa took his last breath on 23 June 2021 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
He was born to Fa'aga (Mother) and Peteru (Father) Tauala on 23 September 1943.
Maliepule lived a life of service not only to his beautiful island of Samoa and it's people, his beloved Family and Friends but also his faithful service in Christ. He was a graduate of the California Graduate School of Theology in Anaheim, California earning his Ph.D in the categories of Doctor's of Philosophy and Divinity for ministry. He served as the Pastor for the Congregational Christian Church (CCCSA) in Taputimu American Samoa, as well as the Associate Pastor for the Congregational Christian Church (CCCAS) in Ta'u Manu'atele, American Samoa. He was the Director for the Youth and Sunday School of the District in Manu'atele and the Senior Advisor for the village of Ta'u for their Youth and Sunday School program. Maliepule was a member of the village of Luma, Ta'u Manu'atele's Choir. He was the Director for the Samoan Culture and World History at Manu'atele High School in Ta'u, Manu'atele. He was the Senior Advisor of the National Honor Society at Manu'atele High School from 2004 to 2005. He retired in 2017 after serving as the Program Director for the Community Service's Division in the Department of Education (DOE) in American Samoa. He was a Culltural Advisor and a greatly sought out Family Historian. He was a great fisherman and the best farmer in Ta'u, Manu'atele. His favorite sport was Golf and he played in many tournaments to include bowling. He loved the Lord, his Family and is very proud to be Manu'atele for life.
On 17 May 1971, he married Fetoa'i Allen of Aua, American Samoa in Oceanside California at the Assembly of God sanctuary.
Maliepule Tauala is survived by his spouse Mrs. Fetoa'i Tauala; Daughter's Mrs. Lupeolefoaga Fa'afouina Manuatu and Mrs. Jeannie Selau Jones; Son, Siautafu Mike Tauala and the multitude of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The Family will greet Family and Friends from 9:45 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday 14 July 2021 at Johnson Cremations, Funeral and Receptions, Junction City Kansas. Visitation will be immediately followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow the service.
