A Memorial Service for Maggie Pearl Jones, 77, of Junction City will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City, KS with Father Al Brungardt officiating. No visitation is planned. Mrs. Jones passed away at her residence on November 8, 2009. Memorial contributions have been designated to St. Xavier's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441.
Mrs. Jones was born May 23, 1932, Hartsville, TN to Willie Lee and Marie(Johnson) Thompson,Sr. She married Irvin Jones November 28, 1966, Junction City, KS. Mrs. Jones was a Chef for Civil Service and had worked at the Officer's Club and the NCO Club for 27 years at Fort Riley, KS. She was a member of the Church of our Savior United Methodist, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Irvin Jones of Junction City, KS, two daughters, Janice L. Smith of Wichita, KS and Annette M. Jones of Chicago, IL, two brothers, Willie Lee Thompson, Jr. of Russellville, KY and J.W. Thompson of Junction City, KS, two sisters, Betty Elam of Junction City, KS and Ruby Washington of Lima, OH, one granddaughter, Ebony Smith of Wichita, KS and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.
