Magdalena Gertrud Rohr

Magdalena "Maggie" Gertrud (Beldzig) Rohr, 73, of Junction City passed away at Geary Community Hospital on May 5, 2011. Cremation has taken place with the assistance of Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street.

She was born January 22, 1938 in Munich, Germany to Wilhelm and Gertrud Beldzig along with five siblings. Maggie was a loving mother, daughter, sister, friend and grandmother (Oma) as well as a great-grandmother (Uhr-Oma). She loved cooking and knitting and her German music and she believed in her higher power, God.

She is survived by her son John Beldzig and wife Caril, her daughter Angelika Matthews, her grandchildren, John Beldzig, Jr. and wife Jayme, Michelle Jones, and great-grandchildren Jacey Beldzig, Jarrett Rampy and Jayden Ellison and one sister, Dora Webber and many nieces and nephews in Germany

She was preceded in death by her son, Heinrich (Henry) Schneider, three brothers, Engelbert, Adolf and "Willie" Beldzig, one sister, Christa Knogler and her long time companion, LeRoy Upshaw.
