Services for Madeline Agnes (Rieck) Caspar, 90, of Junction City, will be Monday, September 20, 2004, 10 a.m. St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father James Hoover and Father Al Brungardt officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 19, 2004, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be given to St. Mary's Cemetery, c/o Harold Becker, 728 Eisenhower, Junction City, Kansas 66441. Mrs. Caspar passed away September 16, 2004 at Geary Community Hospital.
Mrs. Caspar was born January 23, 1914 to Otto Joseph and Mary Agnes (Robidou) Rieck. She was a rural elementary teacher, and was a homemaker. She married Charles Caspar, Sr. February 5, 1936. Mr. Caspar preceded her in death March 7, 1999. They were lifetime farmers in Geary county where they were active in farm organizations; and were recognized as Master Farmer and Master Homemaker. She was a charter member of Alida EHU and later a member of Lyon Creek EHU. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church; and active with the Altar Society, Circle Two.
She is survived by one son, Charles Caspar, Jr. of Junction City, Kansas; two daughters, Janice Kurtz of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Margaret Richardson of Scituate, Massachusetts; and four siblings, Ruth (Rieck) Caspar of Paducah, Kentucky, James Rieck of Liberty Missouri, Marcella (Rieck) Jones of Waldorf, Maryland, and John Rieck of Gladstone, Missouri; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Otto "Bill" Caspar; two brothers, Joseph Rieck and Thomas Rieck.
Pallbearers will be John Kurtz, Paul Kurtz, Robert Hense, David Flam, Chris Miller and Tim Miller.
Music will be provided Joan Keating and Anita Hernandez
