Mabel Kathleen Hartung, 90, of Junction City, KS died October 12, 2003 at Geary Community Hospital. Family graveside memorial service will be Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Highland Cemetery. Pastor Todd Britt of the Madura Congregational Church, Wakefield, KS will officiate. Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Mabel was born May 13, 1913, Rural Geary County, KS to Ed and Kathleen Witt, she lived in Junction City all of her life, she was a homemaker. She married Henry C. Hartung, Jr. March 18, 1932 at Junction City, he preceded her in death May 11, 2002.
She is survived by two sons; Robert Hartung of Junction City and Bill Hartung of Hutchinson, KS, one sister, Irene of Salina, six grandchildren, thirteen great-granchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, spouse, one son; Larry Hartung, one daughter; Darlene Riffel, one brother and two sisters.
