Mabel E. Brumm Klassen

Graveside Services for Mabel E. Brumm Klassen, 87, formerly of Junction City will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2005 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Timothy Schellenbach officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 15, 2005 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel in Junction City, KS. Mrs. Klassen passed away May 6, 2005 at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 5805 Clarks Creek Road, Junction City, KS 66441

Mrs. Klassen was born on November 12, 1917 in rural Geary County to Arthur and Josie Miles Johnston, She attended school in Wabaunsee County near Alma, Kansas. She was a farm wife and homemaker and also worked for Hirsch & Branch Printing Co. in Junction City as a printer for 30 years.

On July 16, 1937 she married Harold Brumm in Junction City and he preceded her in death in 1994. They farmed and raised hogs in Geary County for many years. They moved to Lehigh, Kansas in 1989 to be near their daughter. She married Elwyn Klassen of Lehigh on July 11, 1999. He preceded her in death in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Myrtle Johnson, one brother Lee Johnston and two son-in-laws James Blackwell and Vernon Minns.

Survivors include one daughter Shirley Brumm Minns, Hillsboro Ks, one grandson Kevin Blackwell, Sr., Canton, Kansas, one great-grandson Kevin Blackwell, Jr, McPherson, Kansas, one sister Mary Jones, Wichita Kansas, two brothers John and wife Norma, Rogers, Arkansas and Albert Johnston, Coos Bay, Oregon, two sister-in-laws Doris Brumm, Junction City, Kansas, and Donna Brumm, Lehigh, Kansas.
