Services for Lynnie Ray Samms, 78, of Junction City, KS will be Wednesday February 13, 2002 at 12;00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Nate Butler of the First Southern Baptist Church will officiate, burial will be at Fort Riley Cemetery with full military honors. Fort Riley Honor Guard will serve as casketbearers, Jim Kadle, Vocalist and Terry Pendegrass as Organist. Visitation will be Tues., February 12, 2002, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Lynnie was born August 15, 1923 at Indianapolis, IN, his parents were Adopted Father Jesse Ray and Nannie (Holbrooke) Samms and Step-father Arthur M. Harrison. Lynnie married Junice Herbel, March 10, 1946 at Durham, KS, she survives of the home. Lynnie was employed by the United States Army as a signalman, after retiring with thirty years of service, he became a locksmith. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, American Legion, Eagles Club, TREA,Citizens police, weather watcher and Scout Leader in NC. He is survived by One Daughter; Nancy Leiber of Oregon, One Son; Gary Ray Samms of Junction City, KS and Three Grandchildren, he was preceded in death by his parents, step-parents and One sister; Jean Duncan.
