Luther L. Buchanan, 85, of Junction City, passed away on March 13, 2016 at Geary Community Hospital. Graveside inurnment services with full military honors will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans and the Wounded Warrior Project.
He was born on April 28, 1930, Choctaw, Oklahoma to Albert and Pearl (Carpenter) Buchanan. Luther served in the Army during the Korean conflict, he retired after 20 years in 1971. In years past Luther enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. He was a member of the Korean United Methodist Church of Junction City. Luther will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
Luther is survived by four daughters, Donnis L. Arnold of Kingston, OK, Virginia Buchanan-Milligan of Bisbee, AZ, Dora Alford of Copperopolis, CA, and Sonya Taylor (Don) of Benson, AZ; three grandsons, one granddaughter, three great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Steven Louis Buchanan, January 16, 1976, his granddaughter, Cassy Risley, May 24, 2012, two son-in-laws, Randy Milligan and Tom Alford.
