Episcopal Rite of Christian Burial for Luke David Nelson, infant, of Junction City will be Monday, May 8, 2006, 10 a.m. at St. Xavier Catholic Church in Junction City with the Reverend Thomas E. Punzo Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Kansas City, Missouri officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, May 7, 2006, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street. Cremation has taken place with inurnment to follow service at Wreford Cemetery. Luke passed away May 3, 2006 at Geary Community Hospital. Memorials may be given towards a future scholarship with the Junction City Firefighter's Relief Association, c/o Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St., Junction City, KS 66441.



Luke was born February 6, 2006, in Junction City, son of David L. and Jill-Elizabeth (Volland) Nelson.



Survivors include his parents of Junction City; one sister, Isabelle Goldia Nelson of Olathe; Paternal grandparents, Orville and Angela Nelson of Milford; Maternal grandparents, Charles and Katharyn Volland of Junction City; Great-grandparents Irvin and Lorene Hurt of Junction City and Vernona Volland of Junction City.



Honorary pallbearers will be the Junction City Fire Department second shift.
