Lucille M. Duffy

Lucille M. Duffy, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Lee's Summit, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 29 at Zion United Church of Christ, 1811 McFarland Rd, Junction City, KS 66441. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service starting at 9:30 am. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Lucille's name to Zion United Church of Christ.

Lucille was born in rural Geary County, KS on November 6, 1915 to Otto G. and Lucy (Amthauer) Roesler, the oldest of 4 children. She was married to Frank H. Duffy on June 24, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1996 after 62 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Janice and Diane; her brother Herman Roesler and her sister Edith Guntermann.

Lucille is survived by her daughters Rebecca Dachelet and husband Michael of Lee's Summit, MO, Melissa Donnelly and husband Dave of Leawood, KS, her brother Otto Roesler of Junction City, KS, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Lucille lived her entire life in Junction City, until recent years as her health declined. She was an active member of Zion United Church of Christ, Geary County Republican Women and a lifetime member of Eastern Star. She was devoted to her family and a source of strength for us all. Her presence will be greatly missed.
