Funeral services for Ada 'Lucile' (Macoubrie) Peck, 85, of Junction City, Kansas are set for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Chapel; 203 N. Washington St. Reverend Rex Matney will officiate. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020, at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Wreford Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Franklin Elementary Media Center c/o Johnson Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Peck died March 15, 2020, at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, Kansas.
She was born October 10, 1934 in Burlington, Kansas; daughter of George Nathan and Ada Ellen (Boyer) Macoubrie. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1952. On June 13, 1954 she married Gerald 'Jerry' Nelson Peck at Burlington.
She had been a resident of Junction City since March of 1976. Lucile was a Homemaker, and also helped Jerry with farming and ranching. She was employed with Geary County Unified School District #475; starting in 1981 as a Para Professional at Forsyth Elementary, Para and Library Clerk at Lincoln Elementary, and retiring in 2009 as a Library Clerk at Franklin Elementary. Before Lucile and Jerry were married, Lucile was a Bookkeeper for a business in Burlington.
Survivors include two daughters, Gayle Fielder of the home, Linda Moffenbier and husband Michael of Arizona; two sisters Della Lou Henkle and Margaret Ann Martinitz of Abilene, Kansas; two grandchildren Ryan and Lindsey; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Francis, George and Raymond. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at Johnson Funeral Chapel. Casket bearers will be Mike Orr, Jr.; Brendt Orr; Raymond Macoubrie, Jr.; Richard Martinitz; Travis Henkle, and Dale Heideman.
