Lucile was born into a life rooted in the Presbyterian Church on June 8, 1920, the daughter of Hans and Mettie Marie (Hanson) Larson.
Lucile lived 84 years in the Lyndon Community and for the last ten years at Sterling House in Junction City, KS. Living many years with Fred and Lucile in the Lyndon Community was Lucile's Mother Mettie. Lucile supported Fred with his lifetime of farming and helping him care for his parents Tom and Jane Michaels.
Lucile accumulated friends and family in both communities whom she always referred to as "special". A homemaker her entire life, she served as a role model for the women in her life placing emphasis on education, determination and creativity. Throughout life she particularly enjoyed friendships and conversations with all ages. Her always-sharp mind for details initiated many conversations.
Married to a farmer/stockman in Osage County, almost everything Fred did found Lucile by his side whether it was her waiting in their truck doing needle art while he conducted farm activities or enjoying leisure activities with their fellow card club members, neighbors, friends and relatives.
She became "mother and grandmother" to many, enjoying each persons important community, school, church and family activities. Particularly fortunate were the animals Fred and Lucile chose as family pets. When daughter Deanna became a lifelong K-State Wildcat and married Charles Munson, Lucille became a Wildcat and all of the Munson Family became her family.
She never lacked family and friends and she never lost her caring and attention to detail whether it was mind, appearance, or empathy for others. She always believed anything a person chose to do could be accomplished and made sure they knew that. She was a person always wiser than her years, even at 94. Her gratitude for those in her life was her most important quality.
She married Fred Michaels April 25, 1947, in Topeka, KS. They spent 63 years inseparable at work and play.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Munson and husband Charles of Junction City, a granddaughter Michelle Munson Simu and her husband Serban, of Berkeley, CA, a grandson, David Munson and his wife Laura of Junction City, KS, a great grandson Aidan Simu, a great granddaughter, Camilla Munson and one sister-in-law Loraine Simon of Mankato, KS, and many nieces and nephews.
