Lottie Swaim, 81, Dwight, KS, formerly of Abilene, KS passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Abilene Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Ogden Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to Home Health and Hospice of Dickinson County Herington Office 100 E. Helen Street Herington, KS 67449.
Lottie was born April 13, 1934, in Trenton, TN. the daughter of John Wesley and Gertie (Eaton) Yarbrough.
Lottie was a homemaker. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and working in her flower garden.
She married Charles Swaim February 2, 1960, in Manhattan, KS. He passed away in 2001.
Survivors include four sons, Emmit New of Southern Pines, NC, Jerry New of Trenton, TN, John New of White City, KS and Charles Swaim of Hutchinson, KS; five daughters, Nancy Rose of Moore, OK, Millie Mollett of Astoria, OR, Mary Anders of Grand Junction, CO, Dorothy Delis of Marshfield, WI, and Viola Vonpertz of Dwight, KS. She is also survived by one brother, Charles Yarbrough of Milan, TN; four sisters, Margaret Bryum of Bolivar, TN, Carolyn Lawrence of Trenton, TN, Brenda Johnson of Trenton, TN. and Mildred Mathis of Alamo, TN. She is survived by 46 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren.
