Loren J. "Whitey" Langvardt, 75, died August 31st at Geary Community Hospital.
Loren was the third son born to L.C. "Jack" Langvardt and Gladys (Healy) Langvardt on January 6, 1943. He was a lifelong resident of Junction City. He attended St. Xavier's grade and high school and then went on to graduate From Independence Junior College and Emporia State University.
After college he returned to Junction City where he owned "The Neighborhood Laundromat" and " Whitey's Lawn Care" for many years. He worked as a cook for Kentucky Fried Chicken then Stacy's Restaurant until he retired.
He was a vintage automobile enthusiast and attended many car shows showing his prized 1965 red Chevy pickup. He enjoyed attending auctions and spending time with his many friends at the Elks Club and Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th degree Knight.
Whitey was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brother Duane, St Charles MO, Larry, Junction City, KS and sister Nancy, Salina,KS and many nieces , nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was well loved and will be missed by his family and many friends who were his life's greatest treasures.
A Memorial Mass with inurnment to follow will be held Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11 AM at St. Xavier's Catholic Church with Father Kyle Berens officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead, Topeka, KS 66604 or St. Xavier's School, P.O. Box 399, Junction City, KS 66441.
