Lore Lugo
Lore Lugo, 77, of Junction City, died June 9, 2014 at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. Lore was born May 14, 1937 in Heilbronn-Bockingen, Germany, the daughter of Adolf Christian and Emilie Marie (Rossler) Morgenthaler. She attended schools and graduated from high school in Germany. She moved to Junction City with her family in 1967, as her husband was in the U.S. Army.
Lore was Food Service Supervisor at Ware Elementary for U.S.D. #475, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both, the William Leroy Talbot Post #8773 of the V.F.W, and the Earl C. Gormley Post #45 of the American Legion, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge, all of Junction City. Lore love playing Bingo, and would travel many miles to do so.
Lore married Juan B. Lugo on March 10, 1956 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He died July 29, 1999. Survivors include: 2 sons, John Lugo and his wife Dawn, Yukon, Okla., and Rolf Volkner, Neirstein, Germany; a daughter, Dorothea Ramos, and her husband Fernando, Junction City; a step-son, Juan B. Lugo, Jr., Panama City, FL.; a step-daughter, Elizabeth Delgado, and her husband Joe, Lorain, Ohio; a brother, Heinz Morganthaler, and his wife Ute, Neirstein, Germany; a sister, Doris Mogle and her husband Ernst, Nellingen, Germany; 13 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Lore was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., June 12, 2014 at Ft. Riley Cemetery, with Pastor Matthew Glasgow presiding. The family will greet friends, Wednesday evening, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel, Junction City.
