Memorial services for Loran "Ray" Ward, 62, of Junction City will be held Saturday, June 18, 2005, 2 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Cremation is planned, there will be no burial. Mr. Ward passed away at his residence on June 14, 2005. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, 515 S. Kansas, Suite B2, Topeka, KS 66603 and/or the American Diabetes Association, c/o Memorial & Honor Program, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.

Mr. Ward was born July 14, 1942, Wichita, KS to Raymond O. and Florence M. (Blacker ) Ward. Mr. Ward received his Master of Science degree from Pittsburg State University, Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at Kansas State University, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Kansas State University and his Bachelor of Arts in Bible Ministries at Manhattan Christian College. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, Eagle Scouts and enjoyed the Bluegrass Festivals, woodworking, fishing, hunting and gun smithing.

He is survived by his mother Maxine Ward of Junction City, two daughters, Laura Ward of Salina and Darla McKinney of Wichita, two brothers, Robert "Bob" Ward of Junction City and Roger Ward of Thornton, CO, and three grandchildren, Dan Graves,III, Amanda Graves and Kenneth Graves.
