Lola R. Steffens, 82, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Salina Regional Health Center. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. Pastor David Meier will officiate. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the American Heart Association.
Lola was born March 21, 1935, in Tecumseh, NE the daughter of George G. and Mary E. (Galloway) Lane.
Lola worked as a Quality Assurance Worker in the Food Service Department for the United States Government. She started her career in Arlington, VA and later transferred to Fort Riley, KS. She retired in 1995.
She married Luverne R. Steffens, Sr. on October 15, 1952 in Sidney, NE. He survived of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Luverne "Vern" Steffens and his wife Doris of Junction City, KS, Michael G. Steffens and his wife Andrea of Junction City, KS; one daughter, Pamela Dishman and husband Michael of Junction City, KS. She is also survived by one brother, David Lane of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son David Steffens, one granddaughter Tiffany Canaday; one brother George Lane Jr. and one sister Eileene Gieske.
