Funeral services for Lizzie Mae Chism, 70, of Junction City, will be Saturday, July 9, 2005, 11 a.m. at the Faith Tabernacle Church with Brother Edwin Young officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 8, 2005, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mrs. Chism passed away at Geary Community Hospital on July 2, 2005. Mrs. Chism was born July 7, 1934, Haywood County, TN to John T. and Jennie R. (Harden) Snipes. She married Josh Chism in 1954 in Mississippi. He preceded her in death in 1982, she was a housewife and had been a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church, Junction City for 25 years.
She is survived by two sons, John Forrest and David Chism both of Junction City, two daughters, Geneva Mundy and Ernestine Cherry both of Junction City, three brothers, Louis Snipes and T. Jr. Snipes both of Junction CIty and Freddie J. Snipes of Jackson, TN, two sisters, Pearlie Love of Jackson, TN, and Earlene Brooks of Junction City, eleven grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lidy B. Snipes, one daughter, Brenda Ann Chism.
Pallbearers will be Willie Raymond Pewitte, Greg Snipes, Willie Snipes, Fred Snipes, Tyrone Hill and David Chism Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gladys Richardson, Annie Smith and Margaret Wilson
